MSC Club Volunteer Hours

In order to help offset registration fees , parent members of Junior, Intermediate, Senior and Associate Membership A skaters,  must participate in the required volunteer and/ or Bingo activities of our club or pay a buy-out of $400.00 upon initial registration. STARSkate members are required to complete 10 credits of volunteer commitment per family for the 2023-2024 season ( not including Snowflake). Various volunteer positions will be posted on a continuing basis on the MSC registration site throughout the season with credit value attached.

Members who do not complete their 10 credits of volunteer commitments by June 15, 2024 will be charged a pro-rated amount of $400.00 based on credits earned to the credit card on file.

In addition, MSC will be hosting the Skate Ontario STAR 1-4 Event (Snowflake Competition) this February 2024 with a requirement for all STARSkate families to complete a minimum of 2 volunteer shifts over the 3-day Snowflake weekend.

Bingo Volunteer Commitment

For the 2023-2024 season, MSC will be hosting 3 to 4 monthly Bingo sessions at Mississauga Delta Bingo, Rockwood Mall, 4141 Dixie Rd. at Burnhamthorpe Road and members may choose to attend Bingos (which are valued at 5 credits per session) to complete their volunteer requirements. This is our club's largest fundraiser, assisting with payment of our rental ice time, in which we have participated since 1998. An experienced Bingo volunteer will be joining  you at your session.

There is a penalty of $100.00 charged to the member's credit card on file if they are a "no show" for their committed date or have not given a minimum of 24hours notice by email to the Club Registrar (attention Bingo) at as we may forfeit the Bingo session and be fined by the AGCO.

Snowflake Competition Volunteer Commitment

MSC will be hosting the Skate Ontario STAR 1-4 Event (Snowflake Competition) this February 2-4, 2024 bringing in more than 5oo skaters from across the GTA. Volunteer positions will be posted later in the Fall for this exciting weekend!  This event will be a great opportunity for our STAR 1-4 level STARSkaters to compete and showcase their skills while MSC parent members proudly support our Club. This is a special fundraiser from which we last benefitted financially in March 2020 aiding our club through the difficult Covid years.

ALL STARSkate families will be required to complete a minimum of 2 volunteer shifts over the 3 day weekend.
