The Mississauga Figure Skating Club is a not-for-profit organization run by a volunteer Board of Directors. In order to subsidize the Club’s programs, cost of ice rental and special events, the club relies heavily upon fundraising such as the sale of chocolates and bingo revenues. However, with the recent ban of smoking in the bingo halls, MFSC (along with other youth organizations who participate in bingo) has experienced a significant drop in the amount of revenue generated from this endeavor. As such, MFSC is looking for alternative methods of fundraising to compensate for this decrease in fundraising revenue. In addition to seeking Corporate Sponsorship we continue to host or participate in fundraising events such Used Dress & Skate sales, Dance-A-Thons and LCBO Tag Days. Please browse through this page and take an active role through Sponsorship or by participating in one or more fundraising events. Without your help, youth programs like the one MFSC is providing to the Mississauga residents would not be possible. Thank you for your support!

LCBO TAG DAY... |
|
|
A specific day on which the LCBO grants permission to MFSC, allowing us to canvas for donations in front of a specific LCBO outlet (much like Boy Scouts and Army Cadets do). Many Not-for-Profit and Charitable organizations apply to the LCBO - demand is high so requests are made a year in advance. There is really no cost attached to this fundraising and that is why it is a worthwhile endeavour. Donations are requested from the LCBO shoppers as they enter or exit the store. A lollipop is offered in thanks for each donation (in lieu of a button tag). Skaters (the younger the better) are requested to volunteer an hour or so that day to canvas for donations. An Parent/Guardian must accompany each skater.
The next LCBO Tag Day will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at:
LCBO - Woodchester Mall Store hours: 9:30am - 10:00pm

Are you in need of new dresses or skates?
MFSC is facilitating the "used Dress and Skate" sale event where the Club members can benefit from some great deals on gently used dresses and skates. 20% of all proceeds will benefit MFSC Fundraising. The rest is yours!
Items must be received in advance to be inventoried and tagged by our Volunteers. Visit the MFSC shopping page, and support your club by purchasing club merchandise |
| 5 Bingo | |

Like many other youth organizations in the city of Mississauga, MFSC participates in the Bingo Program in order to help subsidize the cost of running our programs. Revenues from this program enable us to keep our registration and session fees at a competitive level.
