Aryana Shanab

I began skating at age of 7 after spending a year going to the rink and watching my friend skate. My parents thought I would spend a year learning the basics and that would be it. Here I am 20 years later, passing on my love and knowledge of the sport to the next generation!

I have been coaching for 11 years and am currently working towards completing my Provincial Coaching Certification (previous NCCP Level 2). I recognize that every day there is something new to be learned. I have been fortunate to be part of many Skate Canada opportunities, including but not limited to:

Canskate University Graduate

COS Canskate Event Assessor/Referee

Continuous education via National Performance Centre Seminars

I have had MFSC medalists at STARSkate Championships and various area competitions. It’s important to me that my skaters are enjoying what they are doing. My role as their coach is not only to help them become a good skater, but to also support their development and provide them with the skills to be successful in their day to day lives.
